Read The Kindness Diaries One Man Quest to Ignite Goodwill and Transform Lives Around the World Audible Audio Edition Leon Logothetis Ryan Parish Inc Bettie Youngs Book Publishers Books
The incredible journey of one man who sets out to circumnavigate the globe on a vintage motorbike fueled by kindness. The Kindness Diaries is now trending on Netflix!
Follow the inspirational journey of a former stockbroker who leaves his unfulfilling desk job in search of a meaningful life. He sets out from Los Angeles on a vintage motorbike, determined to circumnavigate the globe surviving only on the kindness of strangers. Incredibly, he makes his way across the U.S., through Europe, India, Cambodia, and Vietnam, and finally to Canada and back to the Hollywood sign, by asking strangers for shelter, food, and gas.
Again and again, he's won over by the generosity of humanity, from the homeless man who shares his blanket to the poor farmer who helps him with his broken down bike, and the HIV-positive mother who takes him in and feeds him. At each stop, he finds a way to give back to these unsuspecting Good Samaritans in life-changing ways, by rebuilding their homes, paying for their schooling, and leaving behind gifts big and small. The Kindness Diaries will introduce you to a world of adventure, renew your faith in the bonds that connect people, and inspire you to accept and generate kindness in your own life.

"I read on average 2-3 books a week and I very seldom write reviews. I think "The Kindness Diaries" touches and inspires me as much as "Mountains Beyond Mountains" (the story of Dr Paul Farmer, my first role model). That's why I was very interested in why people did not like it. I can understand why some thought it was an "ego trip" and that he was a "free loader", but even if that was true, I see nothing wrong with him feeling good about himself ("ego trip") and choosing a "free loader" route to fulfill his dream. Being the founder of the Asheville Pay It Forward Network, "free loader" doesn't exist in the dictionary of people who freely give. People who ask for help are actually providing us with the opportunity to experience the joy of giving and to remind us that we are here to pay-it-forward. The beauty of pay-it-forward is that everyone can do it in their own ways. I believe his way has inspired (and will) a lot of people and it's a great way to get the message across. I applaud him for what he did, even though I will not venture out of my house, let alone around the world, without money. People should learn to appreciate the good in others and to accept our differences. If this book doesn't speak to you, then your are not the right person, or perhaps it's not the right time."

- This is a WONDERFUL book that is the perfect antidote to the disturbing, heartless times we live in. It appeals to the adventurer in all of us, but most of all the author shows that basically, all over the world, people are kind, and want to help. I shed tears several times during the reading of this book, but they were tears of gratitude for the good people on this planet, and for the author who had the courage and the big heart to follow his dream and help other people realize their dream also. I feel reassured and encouraged now. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
- I thought that this book was wonderful and I have since given it as a gift twice. I was lucky enough to Skype with the author for my yoga book group and I liked the book and the author even more after that. He is a genuinely kind human that wasn't out to save the world, but ended up making a difference in the lives of many. I truly believe that he got as much out of his acts of kindness as his recipients did.
- It seemed that the author exploited the kindness and genoristy of disadvantaged people. His "journey " seemed self serving.
- Leon gets it. Kindness is indeed a way of life. I read the book a few times and pick up a little something different with each read. It really is that easy to live a life of kindness.
- I bought this book after watching The Kindness Diaries three times on Netflix. Mr. Logothetis is an amazing man, and the help he provided to those who needed should be an inspiration to us all.
- I love the encounters & stories of Leon & his travels.
- What a great book. I had already seen the docuseries but this was a good addition to that.
